ANT TO WORK IN BASEBALL? HERE IS YOUR CHANCE TO GET YOUR BIG BREAK. THE TORRINGTON TITANS, A MEMBER OF THE FUTURES COLLEGIATE BASEBALL LEAGUE, ARE SEEKING PROSPECTIVE INTERNS FOR THE 2012 SUMMER SEASON. EXPERIENCE SUMMER COLLEGIATE BASEBALL, TORRINGTON STYLE!
The Torrington Titans are a summer, wood-bat, collegiate baseball team, operated by the Carminucci Sports Group, who own and operate the Brockton Rox (Can-Am League). The Titans play in the Futures Collegiate Baseball League. The Titans strive to provide its fans, sponsors, and partners with the very best in competitive baseball and affordable entertainment in a family-friendly atmosphere. The team is comprised of amateur, college baseball players from across New England and the country, displaying their talents in front of major league scouts.
Application Procuredure & Requirements:
Candidates must be: enrolled as a full time student at a college or university, earning credits from a college or university because of this internship with the Titans, interested in the internship opportunities and tasks available (see below), be willing to work for at least 40 hours per week during the baseball season (June 1 through August 15th), which includes days, nights and weekends and demonstrate the ability to make your internship the top priority during the summer months.
Candidates are required to have their own: means of transportation to and from Fuessenich Park and have their own housing in the surrounding area.
Compensation will be the college credits earned during your internship.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Torrington Titans 2012 Internship Description The internship position provides qualified candidates the opportunity to gain valuable experience in the selling and promotion of a sports team.
The interns will work directly with several members of the Titans management. All selected candidates must possess ability to market and sell various products offered by the Titans.
As an intern, you will be working in one or more of the following areas: Ticket operations Merchandising Customer service Administration Game day staff Community outreach Group sales
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following tasks: work with the administrative team of the Titans in executing the business plan for the season and the daily operational plan, marketing to local businesses and the community, sell our personal skill sessions to parents and kids teaching the fundamentals of baseball, work with kids and the Titans players & coaches during our personal skill sessions, manage all aspects of the birthday and group sales, oversee the Kids Zone before and during the game, balance daily operational tasks by multi-tasking through email and text messaging with management, manage inventory of apparel, food and beverages and reconcile to cash sales at end of game, work with and manage part-time employees, if necessary, serve as the mascot at the game and special events, assist with web site merchandising & e-commerce operations, work with the team’s photographer taking digital pictures and videos during games, which will be posted on the Titans website and blog, interview players and coaches for the Titans blog, write recaps of each game that will be posted in the Titans blog, manage between inning games with contestants, INTERNSHIP PROGRAM WITH TORRINGTON TITANS November 2011
3 assist with 50:50 raffle to gather donations from fans in the stands, assist at the food, apparel and souvenir concession stands, keep the Fuessenich Park clean and safe, assist with fan throwing out the first pitch of the game, coordinating the singers of the National Anthem, selecting between inning contestants and explaining the game to be played, coordinate “sponsor of the game” with the Titans PA announcer, coordinate player and mascot appearances (such as the July 4th parade, keep electronic box score for home games using Pointstreak software, update A-frames around the baseball field announcing today or tomorrow’s home game, utilize Photoshop (if skill set is available) for advertisements on website and blog and utilize and coordinate postings to social media (Facebook, blog, website and Twitter) to the maximum.
Community Outreach:
serve as a member of the Titans Street Team, plan Street Team appearances throughout the surrounding area for special events, coordinate appearances for the Titans Mascot on game day and non-game days and effectively promote the Titans as a family friendly destination at all community appearances.
